It can't be!

Keenan turned 10 months old on friday and I just can't believe it. 10 months old already? Fast approaching one and I'm not sure where the time went. He's a speedy crawler and pulling up on just about everything. He is in the beginning stages of cruising. He can go forward with his feet but hasn't figured out how to go side to side. I'm not in any rush! The boy loves shoes. We cannot leave our shoes anywhere or he will find them and attempt to eat them. So gross! His vocabulary is rapidly growing and he can say "Momma", "Dadda", "Nigh Nigh" (night night), "more", "nana" (banana), "bye bye", "ba ba" (which we are trying to get him to say cup but he calls cup his ba ba), and "no-no". He's just finished up with the bottle and is on sippy cups although he's quite particular about which sippy cups he'll use (Playtex with the rounded hard spout). My little boy still can't tolerate dairy which is such a pain. He was throwing up formula (any kind) so badly that we just went ahead and switched him to soy milk 2 weeks ago and he's doing great. Here are two new pictures of my baby and one of Cayden with her new hair cut.

Breathe in, breathe out

Cayden's hair was just incredibly long, almost reaching the top of her butt. I loved it and thought it looked soooo pretty. But lately it's been really hard for her to wear it down because it keeps getting stuck under her arms and is just uncomfortable. I decided to go ahead and take her to get 2 inches cut off. The whole time she was getting it cut I was pacing and trying not to get sick as I watched her pretty hair fall to the ground. 2 inches sure looks like a lot and in reality is more like 3 inches once it's finished and dried. I thought I was going to be sick and I think the hairdresser wanted to tell me to chill out. Cayden is so happy but I'm wishing I could rewind the clock and only have gotten 1 inch off. I feel like it's really short now which is ridiculous. It still falls halfway down her back and is long. I haven't had it professionally cut in about a year so it really needed it. It looks so much healthier but I'm still sick over it. I think I have issues! I have to keep reminding myself it'll grown back. Eric's looking at me like I've lost my mind. I'm thinking she'll get her next hair cut maybe when she's.........10 years old!

Cayden on a sugar high

This is Cayden after eating Tootsie Rolls. We have no idea what a "Scottish reel" is but Cayden informed us she did it at dance class. She was making up songs and just going crazy. Funny stuff.

Does the craziness ever end?

We had such a busy weekend. I'm still exhausted and actually ended up sick last night. I think maybe I had too much excitement in the past few days for my old ass! On Saturday we met up with some friends from all over at Sesame Place. After Sesame my friend Carrie, her husband Gordon, and their daughter Kennedy (Carson was at his grandmom's) met us at "Cheeseburger in Paradise" for dinner. Sunday we went to another friends house for a big picnic with all the kids. Picture around six 3 year olds and a few babies in the mix - crazy but fun. It was so nice being able to hang out with friends while the kids were occupied playing with one another. Keenan was a trooper at Sesame in the heat stuck in the stroller. He did get to play in the wave pool and loved it.

This week continues with the crazy theme. Cayden is going to a Princess camp Monday through Thursday from 10am to 3pm. When I picked her up today she was so excited because "Tinkerbell" was there. I had to smile because it was a young girl dressed up (so obvious) and it's sweet seeing the innocence of a 3 year old. I had to laugh very hard when she told me in a super grumpy voice when we got in the car "Hey, I wanted to see Tinkerbell fly but she didn't go outside and do it". Wednesday night we have to do a makeup for gymnastics class since she missed her day class due to camp. Friday she has a meet and greet at her preschool. She's starting on the 20th because hopefully I'll be employed as of then! Here are a couple recent pictures of the kids:

Of course!

So I just saw on the news this morning that there will be a heat wave this Tuesday and Wednesday. Excessive heat watch with temperatures around 97 degrees. Thank goodness we have air conditioning - oh wait NO WE DON'T. Of course there would be a heat wave now when the damn air is broken. I swear we have pretty bad luck around here. We had a company come out and look at it and the whole thing is just shot to hell. This is not surprising since the unit is the original and our house is over 30 years old! Eric's parents have offered to get us a new one since obviously me not working = no money! I don't even know how to begin to thank them. Even if I was working it would take months for us to save the amount to fix it. Eric had someone he knew who did A.C. on the side and Eric's dad knew someone who sold them so we hoped we'd catch a break somehow but looks like it's not happening. We are calling Sears today to come out and hopefully they'll give us an appointment this week. By the time they come out, order it and come put it in we are looking at lots of sweaty days and nights! My poor babies. We've been spending a lot of time at Target, the mall and any other indoor air conditioned place! Think nice cool thoughts for us. I swear if we could afford it we'd take off on a vacation right now!
