Color Me Mine

Cayden and I went to "Color Me Mine" today with her friend Brynn (and Melanie!). She picked out a ceramic and then went to the color wall and chose 5 colors to paint her ceramic with. She picked a dog and the colors Rose, Blue/Green, Seaweed Green, Brown, and Turquoise. It was um...quite an interesting dog! It was such a fun time for her. She took her time painting every little piece of the dog. She was a bit sad that we had to leave it there to get glazed and fired. We'll go back and pick it up next week. They had so much to choose from big and small from kid ceramics to dinnerware to adult things. I want to go back for myself! They do a 45 Mommy & Me preschool class on Saturday's come September where they read a story and the kids do a piece based on the book. We'll be signing up for a few of those no doubt! For anyone with a child over 2 years old who likes to paint I would highly recommend this activity especially on a rainy day. It was a fun experience and I'm sure we'll go back again. Plus how can I not love this odd keepsake dog! LOL

Cayden's 1st dance recital

Cayden had her 1st dance recital today and I couldn't be more proud of her! Her class did awesome! There were several different groups of kids the same age and her class did the best by far (and I'm not just saying that). I think it was because her class was really small compared to the others (it was at a time where most working moms wouldn't be able to get there so she only had 7 other kids in her class). The show was "Treasure Island" and all the dances where based around that. Cayden was a "pirate beauty" and she did her dance to two Wiggles songs "I'm a pirate", and "The friendly pirate ship is rocking on the sea". She looked right out into the huge audience and danced her little heart out! Here she is in her costume before the recital.

Our beach trip to Wildwood NJ

Me, Cayden & Keenan headed to the beach house on Monday and Carrie, Kennedy & Carson came down from Maryland to stay with us. We had such a great time. The girls had an absolute blast playing together on the beach and riding the rides on the boardwalk. The boys were angels. It was such a great time. View the cute little slideshow of our trip pictures. Click the link below then view pictures and then slideshow. Enjoy!!

Lots of changes

Hi there! I'm in the midst of changing the colors, layouts, and heading of my blog. I was getting tired of looking at that super dark background! I love blue so that is why I picked it but I found something lighter. I felt like it was time for a change :) Also I changed the title. Previously it was "Cayden, Keenan, & Mommy too" but let's face it...when do I ever write about myself? Rarely. My blog will now be called what's it's really been about the whole time "The Adventures of Cayden & Keenan". Of course now that I wrote that I will end up talking about myself! Ha. Well let's see if I can get anything I have to say about myself out of the way.

Hmmmmmm....being home the past almost 8 months (minus two weeks), I've discovered I actually love to cook. Yep you heard that right. I love cooking! It's been so fun trying out new recipes and making up stuff. Eric is the guinea pig and he always says it's good. He's probably lying to me! Ha ha. I also love being a stay at home mom. I will have to go back to work by October and that kind of makes me sad.

I'm on a crazy new weight loss and exercise kick. A few weeks back I saw an old family member who I haven't seen in years and basically the rude bitch told me she couldn't believe how "big" I had gotten over the years. Nice isn't that? The conversation went on and on and I wanted to run away crying but couldn't do that in the middle of a party so I had to just look at her like she was crazy. Basically she told me I was a big fatty. Unfortunately she was right as I had seen my own image in the mirror the weeks before and was less than pleased. Thanks to her I decided enough procrastinating and let's get this into gear. Tomorrow marks 3 weeks and I've lost about 7 1/2 lbs and several inches. I've been doing at LEAST one workout every day. Usually in the morning but sometimes I'll do another at night. I do the video's 7 days a week and I try to go walking at night with the kids for an hour 5 days a week. I've dropped a pants size so that's good. Eric laughs at me mostly because I have never been one to "work out" but I'm so dead serious about losing this weight and I am DETERMINED. I'm in this for the long haul. I had about 30 lbs to go to get down to my preCayden weight but now it's more like 23. Woohoo. Although sometimes I want to punch his face in when he gets ARBY's like yesterday and proceeds to eat those yummy curly fries in front of me and I sit and eat a damn lean cuisine. Will power baby.

Tomorrow we take off for my parents beach condo in Wildwood. Eric will be staying home and working. Cayden is really excited about this trip (me too). My friend Carrie is coming down with her daughter Kennedy and son Carson and I'm really looking forward to it. You may remember the pictures I posted back in January when we visited them at their home in Maryland. Keenan was barely 3 months old at the time and Carson only 7 1/2 months old. Now Keenan is the one who is 7 1/2 months old and Carson just celebrated his 1st birthday. It'll be fun to see the boys get to interact this time. We'll be spending time on the beach and the boardwalk and after the kids get settled at night Carrie and I will have ourselves some drinks (or lots of drinks......LOL).

Dorney Park

On Saturday we went to Dorney Park with my whole family. We got there at 10am when it opened and stayed until it closed 12 hrs later at 10pm!!!! I couldn't believe we were there that long. The time flew by. I figured the kids would get antsy and we would most likely have to leave midday but I packed for a full day in case. They were both total angels all day. Cayden missed her nap but had no meltdowns. She rode all the rides in the kiddie park several times and even met the height requirements to ride some of the big rides with me or Eric like tilt a whirl, scrambler, and music express. She is such a thrill seeker and loved the fast crazy rides! She had the time of her life. She waited patiently too while Daddy, Pappy, Uncle Dale, Uncle Keith, Rebecca and Elizabeth rode the crazy roller coasters (not me - I'm a wimp!)

Keenan was just a trooper. He rode in the stroller 95% of the day! He took little cat naps here and there and just played away. I brought a huge ziploc bag full of rattles and when he got bored with one I'd just switch it out. He was as happy as could be riding in the stroller outside looking at all the sites.

Apparently cat food tastes good!

How would I know? Because my daughter keeps eating it! PUKE. Uggg Cayden picked up a piece of cat food on the way to her bath two nights ago and ate it. She got a big lecture on how disgusting it was and never to do it again. Today Eric found her behind the bathroom door eating cat food again! Why do kids do the most disgusting things? She needs to get back in school and stop having all this free time to do strange things!

I love Mowhak's!

When I was christened I saw this baby there with a mohawk. I thought it was pretty cool. I've really been bugging mommy lately to give me a mohawk but she always refuses. Imagine my delight when after bath tonight she finally agreed!

Mommy was less then pleased with my mohawk and wanted to get rid of it immediately. I put on my best serious look and informed her that I am a bad ass and should keep my mohawk.

Mommy told me she just wants her sweet baby back. I tried to tell her I was growing up and wouldn't be a baby much longer but that just made her more upset. So I decided to give in after all and go back to my sweet boy look.
