It just might be time.......

for Keenan to get a hair cut! I swear it just keeps growing and growing. Luckily it's pretty manageable and we can get it to go straight but there's just so much! Eric wants to get it cut pretty short. I'm ok with that when he's bit older I just can't bring myself to get it all chopped off yet. I think I'll try to hang in until his first birthday and then go for the big cut. In the meantime it looks like I'll have to trim it up at home here and there! Look at this crazy mass after being towel dried. If he were a girl he'd be able to have little pigtails already!

Keenan is 9 months old!

I can't believe my baby is 9 months old! Where has the time gone? I'm happy to say that Keenan has mastered crawling! He's been getting better and better and then yesterday he just started going a long distance. It's so funny because he's so slow and he just goes and goes until he gets where he wants to be. I know before too long he'll be speeding off. He's just about done baby food and when it runs out we won't be buying anymore. He loves the gerber graduate stuff - the diced fruits and veggies, the wagon wheels, puffs, and veggie dip sticks but his favorite by far are the Gerber fruit and cereal bars and graduate spaghetti. He loves them! He had his 9 month old checkup today and his stats are:

Weight: 22 lbs 10 oz 75%
Height: 30 in 95%

10 day challenge

I'm so excited! Some of my friends from my baby board and I (12 to be exact) are doing a 10 day intense weight loss challenge. It's no secret I've been trying to loose weight for almost 2 months now and I've been doing a pretty damn good job at it. I've been working out and eating well and it's paid off. I've lost 13 lbs so far and I can now fit in my pre-Keenan jeans. Yay for me. My workout routine was getting a bit boring so I proposed a 10 day challenge to my friends and asked if anyone wanted to join! The turnout was much better than I hoped for and I'm just thrilled. We all weighed in this morning and will not weigh in again until June 1st. We are all going to exercise like crazy and reduce our calories/eat healthier. The person with the most percentage lost will win a prize of some sort. If you ever watched "The Biggest Loser" this is where I got the idea from. Of course the prize will NOT be $50,000 like the show LOL but just winning is enough of a prize for me!

No more babies...

I am just so sad it's ridiculous. I've been going through all my pictures of Keenan and pulling ones aside into a folder for his 1 year video I'll be making. I have so many to sort through that I'm starting the process now. This way in another 2 1/2 months I'll be ready to actually start making it. I just cannot believe how fast he's growing, that my baby - LAST BABY - will be 1 year old in just a matter of a few months. I know people always fear they won't be able to love their second baby as much as their first but trust me you do! And watching Cayden and Keenan together is just extra sweet. There is nothing as special as that sibling bond. I'm so glad they will have each other while growing up. I just am in disbelief that we are never going to have another baby again! It's also the end of the Devine babies because Eric's siblings are not having anymore so now that we are done there will be no tiny babies on that side ever again! I could at least try to convince Eric to have one more if I had a JOB (even though it would NOT work! LOL) but since we are broker then broke I don't think it's a good time to even bring it up! Considering my pregnancy, labor and newborn phase with Keenan (and hell he's pretty miserable even now) I know this sadness must be a moment of temporary insanity. Let's hope it passes quickly!

"The hop"

As previously mentioned Keenan's been trying to crawl but just can't quite figure it out. Today he's been rocking at a crazy speed and then jumps forward with his knees. We were sitting here dying of laughter when I realized "Why haven't I tried to video this?". Of course by the time I brought my camera over he had lost most of his steam from doing it for awhile. But here's a little peek. Watch his knees jump forward and imagine him rocking 5x's faster because that's what he was doing! LOL

Busy, busy, busy

I haven't updated in over a week which is pretty strange for me. We all know I never run out of things to say! We have been quite the busy family around here lately. Between beach trips, gymnastics, summer camp and my never ending job search the days are flying by. I am enjoying every second of this chance to be home all summer with the kids. I felt lucky to stay home with Cayden for 6 months so still being home with Keenan is just amazing. I guess the whole job situation was a blessing in disguise. Keenan is so close to crawling. He gets up on those hands and knees and goes backwards but only 2 steps forward here and there. He is constantly trying to figure it out. On one hand I'm hoping he doesn't figure it out for another month or so. He gets into enough as it is! But on the other hand I get so excited for him every time I see him getting ready to take off. He will be 9 months old next Tuesday and has his doctor visit that day. I'm afraid to see that scale. I would guess he is close to 22 lbs and around 31 inches? We will see. Cayden was 20 lbs 4 oz and 32 inches at 1 year and she was a big girl but he is just a total beefcake!
