We're outta here (on friday)!

Just wanted to say "see ya" because I won't get a chance to update until after our trip. We leave on friday afternoon. We are going on a cruise to the Eastern Carribean which will be making stops in the Bahamas, St. Maarten, and St. Thomas. We have lots of fun things planned such as a couples massage on board for Eric and I, and shopping ALONE in St. Maarten without the kids. Also we will be getting off the ship and taking the kids to the beach in St. Maarten and St. Thomas. This will be Cayden's and (obviously) Keenan's first cruise experience. Keep your fingers crossed that they are angels. Especially think of us during our flight times because both our flights are at Keenan's cranky period in the evening!

I'll be back after my trip with tons of pictures!

Happy 5 months Keenan!

I can't believe Keenan is 5 months old already! He just had a dr's appointment a few days ago. He is 15 lbs and 26 3/4 inches. He's getting some chunky thighs! He still isn't rolling. He rolled two times from back to belly months ago and never again. I guess he's lazy. He does these crazy sit ups though. He's starting to sit for a few seconds on his own so I'm thinking by next month he'll be able to sit alone for sure. He smiles all the time. He is still throwing up like crazy. The doctor switched his meds and told us to give it a week and if there is no change then he'll switch it again. He has gone through 4 outfits this morning. It's ridiculous!

Don't deny it!

This is THE CUTEST baby you have ever seen. Alright maybe if you have your own then he's the second cutest you've ever seen. Regardless there is no denying that this is one good looking kid!

Mommy's new ride

How excited am I?! Eric is getting a new car soon. His car is 8 years old and will not pass inspection this year. With all the driving back and forth into the city for work our cars get a beating. Cayden slept over my mom's Friday so we decided to take advantage of our Friday and Saturday and get some things done that we haven't been able to. We decided to go looking at cars. Eric has a few SUV's in mind that he wants to look at before next month and I've been wanting to stop by the Saturn dealer and look at used SUV's there. I've been thinking about trading my little Saturn Ion in for a used Saturn Vue if it was affordable and my payments were going to be about the same. It is just too small having 2 kids in car seats. Cayden's little legs touch the back of the seat and it's very cramped. It just happened that the Saturn dealership was the first we passed.

We started looking around and I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw a bunch of Vue's in my price range. Long story short - we did some test driving, and talked to someone about what would happen if I traded my car in since I was only 2 yrs into payments, what I would get for it, and what payments would be for the Vue. The Vue I was liking happened to be fully loaded and even had heated seats! Well we figured it wasn't happening but we'd just check. We just couldn't afford to have payments any higher then what I was paying on my car. I was shocked to find out it was going to be doable! So a few hours later I left with a *new* car! I traded my 2004 Ion in for a 2003 Vue and I absolutely love it! The kids have plenty of room and so do I. I feel a little bad since we were suppose to be shopping for a new car for Eric & I'm the one who got one all because we happened to pass the Saturn dealership first! YAY!

Travel Drama

My goodness what drama. As of December EVERYONE has to have a passport to travel out of the U.S. We are going on a cruise in March so everyone in my family who didn't have one had to apply for one. I HAD one but couldn't find it anywhere so I had to reapply. Eric's was still valid but Cayden and Keenan needed one too (how ridiculous is that?!). So in January we went and applied for the 3 passports. They take 6 weeks to come in but they give you a box to list your travel date so that you can be sure you get it in time for your trip. Well yesterday Cayden's passport comes in the mail! YAY....then I hear from my mom and find out my neice's was denied due to birth certificate stuff - what's crazy is she had a passport for years and just need a renewal! Now they are in a panic trying to get that resolved and issued in time.

So this morning I go online to check the status of mine and Keenan's figuring it'd only be a few days more since Cayden got hers yesterday and ours were filed at the same time. Nope..it said they were expected to arrive APRIL 17TH! Um...that's 10 days AFTER we are suppose to get back from our trip. I had to call and call and call all day to the main passport/goverment number. It kept saying that all agents were busy call back later and hung up. I was getting so angry. FINALLY I got a hold of someone and indeed they were NOT going to make it in time for our trip? WTF??? So I had to pay an expedite fee of $75 EACH for them to make it here on time. I'm so mad. Oh did I mention they were $80+ a person to begin with? We applied in time but because they are now overwhelmed with applications since the law changed. This is such drama. The best part is our airline tickets and cruise fare is nonrefundable so my whole family is panicked!

Teething bites!

Poor Keenan never gets a break. He's finally been such a happy boy and now this. He is getting two bottom teeth. He's been chomping on his hands like crazy lately and chewing his thumb. His little hands have horrible red dry spots all over them from their excessive use. Tonight he was screaming so badly like he was in severe pain. I looked in his mouth and sure enough on the bottom those two little slits were there - the signal that teething has begun. It could take weeks before they begin come through. Poor thing.

Cayden had her two bottom teeth by the time she turned 5 months so I'm not surprised. I remember at her 4 1/2 month checkup telling the doctor I thought she was teething. He told me probably not because most babies get their first tooth around 7 months. Well he was totally wrong because two weeks later she had two teeth!

Ps: Like my bib Gavin? Who knew when I borrowed it Saturday that those words would come true!
